Criteria for Weight Loss Surgery

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Body mass index (BMI) of 40 or greater or a BMI of 35 or greater with one or more serious health conditions, such as type 2 diabetes or sleep apnea
  • Not suffering from any other disease that may have caused excess weight gain
  • Motivated to make healthy and necessary preparations and lifestyle changes
